Important Announcements for SMBTechEdge

We will be replacing some of the core aspects of our ShoonyEk ERP and SMBTechEdge framework :

1. Usage of OpenStack Cactus , Instead of Eucalyptus as a choice for private cloud platform.
2. Migrating the app from MySQL to Drizzle , similar architecture, cloud ready,No Oracle Paranoia, at least till now.
3. Migrating from a finite state machine to a full fledged workflow engine.(state_machine to ruote,amqp)
4. KVM Enters , Virtual box goes out as a choice for visualization platform.
5. Writing specific css for Blackberry ,Android, Symbian and iphone.
6. Adding a full featured mobile client support.
7. ngnix will be replacing apache as a default choice for the servers
8. BigTuna Enters the Development Stack
9. Still looking for some ideal project management tool :P that could be hosted locally

We are changing - into what and why ?

We are changing in many ways!

When we started our journey in 2006, we were a clean slate. We didn’t know a lot of things. We just knew a few technologies, a few processes, and a few good people to back us. We were naive, reckless and random in our approach.We however kept ourselves open to 2 things :

1. Learning New Stuff , whatever it may be, dealing with clients, recoveries, our own mistakes,technologies, methodologies.
2. Apply immediately what we learn.

As we kept following these 2 simple rules,we saw ourselves evolving, maturing, in our outlook and approach to work , clients , projects, adoption of new, acceptance and also moving on. 

People have been the biggest asset , boon and bane to the company. We have seen excellent, good, bad and ugly times. We however, feel that these times are good teachers and we have been good students in that regards.

We were all techies and the company still keeps driven through a technology based approach. There is still very little distinction between the approaches and functioning of different “departments” or functions as you may say.

We are Changing !

Yes, we started as a small outsourcing shop, turned into a tightly knit consulting and this ever metamorphosing change process has now turned us into a company that works on incubation of ideas that we believe would bring serious change.

Yes ! We believe in Change and believe in Manifesting and fostering it. 

Why are we changing ?
Over the years we have worked with several exciting people , startups and concepts. They have taught us various stuff, like launching a successful business, launching and failing, improving ideas, being agile and flexible in approach towards user feedback. We want to use all of this and want the masses to benefit from it.

Many of us still need to medium , catalysts and platform to launch their ideas, for a precise reason that technology is still rocket science to many. The basic idea behind all our ideas is very simple.

To make the best , latest technologies available to as many people as possible in cost and form they can easily comprehend and use to their advantage.
